Background Check and Affiliation Assessment in the Recruitment Process for All Positions at OKEA:

  • Background Check: With the consent of the relevant candidates, a background check will be conducted to verify education and experience, carried out by a third party. We request that diplomas and transcripts in Norwegian, Scandinavian, or English be attached to the application.
  • Assessment of Affiliation with High-Risk Countries: As part of the recruitment process, all applicants will be asked to answer questions that map any affiliation with high-risk countries. If the answers indicate affiliation, and the candidate progresses in the process, an additional assessment will be conducted.
  • Non-Discriminatory Assessment: The affiliation assessment is based on non-discriminatory criteria and involves no differential treatment based on ethnicity or other protected characteristics. The assessment looks at factors such as citizenship, family relationships, and financial assets that may indicate a security risk. Candidates with such connections may pose a potential security risk to OKEA, as they may be more vulnerable to exploitation or recruitment by foreign threat actors. This assessment focuses solely on the candidate’s relationship with high-risk countries, not on ethnic background or national origin.
  • High-Risk Countries: The definition of high-risk countries is based on assessments from Norwegian security authorities and OKEA’s own security risk assessment.
